IT'S panto time in the dale... oh yes it is!
The Teesdale Players take to the stage this week with their version of Beauty and the Beast.
There will be performances at Cotherstone Village Hall tonight (Thursday), Friday and Saturday nights, starting at 7.30pm, plus a matinee at 2pm on Saturday.
Anna O’Brien takes the role of beauty while Russell Whiting is barely recognisable as the beast.
The show also features Agnes and Agnetha, a couple of oversized ballerinas in the form of Philip Lamb and Richard Kettlewell.
The colourful costumes have been produced by Eileen Stokell, while artist Anne Mason has joined Linda Bird and members of the cast to come up with the set and props.
The panto will also support a number of good causes.
Proceeds from Saturday’s matinee interval and refreshments are donated to Cotherstone pre-school playgroup, while volunteers for the Teesdale branch of cancer Research UK will be raising funds during the nightly intervals with refreshments and a raffle.
Some tickets are still available – £6 for adults and £3.50 for children. Call 01833 650302.
