World music comes to Barnard Castle thanks to The Hut People

A UNIQUE mix of folk and traditional music from around the world will be performed in Barnard Castle on Friday, March 3.
The Hut People, an English instrumental duo, will take to the stage at The Witham.
Comprising accordionist Sam Pirt and percussionist Gary Hammond, the pair mix global rhythms with folk tunes from Quebec to Spain, Scandinavia to Sussex.
They have been part of and performed alongside legendary acts such as The Beautiful South, Nina Simone, The Dubliners and Sharon Shannon.
A treat for a Barnard Castle venue, the duo have been a hit at the nearby Swaledale Festival for eight years running with sell-out shows across the board.
