A MAGICIAN and escapologist, formerly from Teesdale, is to put on a show in aid of a village hall where he learned martial arts as a boy.
Danny Hunt, who grew up in Butterknowle before starting his own Amethyst Magic and Illusion Show, is returning to the village to host the show on Saturday, March 11. Doors open at 7.30pm
Hall committee member Klara Wylie said: “When he was a young boy his dad bought him a magic set and from that he became inspired to become a magician.
“He now hosts his own show and has travelled extensively performing and amazing audiences.
“His show has recently been supporting alongside Sir Ken Dodd.
“He’s putting on his fantastic show for us free of charge to help raise funds for the village hall. It will be great family entertainment and we can’t thank him enough for supporting us like this.”
As a youngster he also trained in the village with renowned local Taekwondo trainer Master Bryan Wylie and achieved a second dan black belt.
Tickets are available from Ms Wylie on 01388 710855 or The Royal Oak pub.
