Youngsters in the upper dale delved into the world of books to learn more about their favourite stories.
Forest of Teesdale Primary School held a book day which gave pupils the chance to step into the shoes of their favourite characters for the day.
Teacher Claire Tunstall said: “The children had a great day in school, fully immersing themselves into the world of books.
“They dressed up as a book character and brought in a selection of their favourite books to share with each other. They have discussed thoughts and feelings that the characters have throughout their stories, wrote book reviews and character profiles.”
The children also collected words and phrases from their favourite books to help them write their own stories.
