With 28 years hairdressing experience between them, Trudy and Leanne Gibson, have joined forces to begin a joint venture in the town.
Annabelle’s will officially open on Horsemarket on Saturday, December 9, in the shop where La Moda used to be. Clients old and new are welcome to pop along to see the new salon and raise a glass to its opening.
The pair, who live in the town, both went into hairdressing straight after leaving school. Leanne joined Kenneally’s in the town where she remained for the past 17 years up until the end of last month.
Meanwhile, Trudy shut the doors of her own salon at Star Yard, which was also called Annabelle’s, having run the business for the past one and a half years.
She started out at Margaret Lodge Hairdressing, in Galgate, before joining her sister at Kenneally’s for five years.
She then did a two and a half year stint at The Hub before setting up on her own.
The pair are now looking forward to making their ambition a reality. Trudy, 27, said: “When this came up we thought it was an ideal opportunity to do it together.
“It has always been an ambition of ours to have a shop together. We are really excited. With us both being from the town we know a lot of people. Everyone is more than welcome to come along and give us a try. We are welcoming all existing and new clients.”
Cutting, colouring, men’s barbering and bridal packages are just some of the services that will be offered from the salon.
Trudy said: “We have got experience with young and old.
“It is not just going to be a modern salon. If someone comes in and wants a perm we can do that and if someone would like ombre we can do that too. We do a wide range of clients. We are quite versatile.”
The salon will be open Tuesday 9am to 3pm, Wednesday 9am to 5pm, Thursday 10am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm. To book an appointment call 01833 908308.
