THE Coach and Horses pub, in Barnard Castle, has reopened under new management after a major refurbishment.
New landlords Mark and Emma Carr took over the Marston pub on November 6 and oversaw the refit.
Mr Carr said the refurbishment included new flooring, carpets, tables and decorating. Mayor Sandra Moorhouse was on hand for the official reopening on Friday, December 8. She said: “It is absolutely fantastic. It is very welcoming with a strong local interest.”
A unique feature of the pub is the collection of historic photographs that line the walls.
Most date back to the early 1900s and feature scenes and landmarks of the town.
The pub has strong pool and dominoes teams and Mr Carr hopes to start a darts team in the near future.
