Uniquely Teesdale greetings cards have gone on sale at the Teesdale Mercury shop.
With 57 different covers featuring dale landscape and wildlife, the blank cards can be selected for any special occasion. From a romantic view for Valentine’s Day to a horse romping through snow for Christmas, the individual cards can add a personal touch to the sender’s message. The images were taken by Barnard Castle photographer David Williams, who is renowned for his coverage of local events, such as Barnard Castle Meet.
The photographer has been producing his greetings cards for the past four years but this is the first time they are available through the Mercury shop. He said: “I’m delighted to be in the shop because the footfall will be excellent. I will be very interested to see which ones sell best.”
A current favourite with people is an image of the horse galloping through the snow, but the photographer believes a new addition of a red grouse resting on a way marker will also appeal.
The cards cost £2 each.
Mr Williams can also produce personalised cards for people on request and can use their image of his.
