Expansion at Evenwood-based CA Group sees building erected in a week

RECENT expansion at employee-owned CA Group Limited has seen a new building go up in record time at the company’s headquarters in Evenwood.

The bespoke portal framed construction, which measures 19m x 27m, was manufactured on site and erected in just one week, by the United Products (UP) team.

UP, part of the CA Group of companies, specialises in delivering made-to-measure buildings to the agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors.

The new building, which will be known as Cladding Accessory Supplies (CAS), will house all of the company’s fixtures and fittings, freeing up significant space within the existing site to allow for further expansion.

Martin Lowther, who looks after supply chain and special projects for CA Group, said: “The need for the new building provided the perfect opportunity for us to experience first hand how the UP service works. We wanted a quick but proven solution which would pose no risk of leaks and which carried meaningful guarantees of up to 25 years.

“These requirements were fully met through the addition of our Twin-Therm cladding solution.”

Michael Hammond, business development manager for United Products, added: “UP operates via The Shed Network, a team of distributors based throughout the UK, delivering the highest quality materials installed to the highest standards.

“Our aim is to provide an unprecedented level of quality and service with every project we undertake.

“Working with the team at our headquarters has been a great exercise in practising what we preach and we are all very happy with the results.”

The company also designs, manufactures and delivers a wide range of steel products including profiled sheets, gutters, flashings, rainwater goods, sections, purlins and rails as well as bespoke fabrications.

All building components are CE marked, comply with British Standards and meet ISO 9001-2008 requirements.
