David thanked for 25 years of litter picking in Evenwood

EVENWOOD and Barony Parish Council members said a big thank you to David Place who has been litter picking in Evenwood for 25 years.

It was the late Cllr Raymond Gibson who David asked about being the village’s litter picker and 25 years later he is still doing the job that his mother says he enjoys.

David can be seen most weeks picking up increasing amounts of litter; even separating it into recycling.

Cllr Barbara Nicholson presented David with travel vouchers, as taking excursions is one of his pastimes, and a cake to celebrate.
