ONE of the dale’s most popular live music clubs is preparing for the first show of its autumn programme.
Mickleton Live's new season begins with the return visit of London-based, Detroit native Marcus Malone.
He is performing in support of his critically acclaimed new album Better Man, which was released earlier this year.
Mickleton Live's Sue Brown said it would be a return visit to Teesdale after a decade's absence for the blues rock artist.
“Marcus was last with us in 2007 and he gave a fantastic show that was enjoyed by everyone.
“It was a sell-out then and we are very fortunate to welcome him back.”
Since relocating to London almost 20 years ago, he has produced six albums and performed at various festivals across the country, also opening for the late BB King at the Royal Albert Hall.
His latest album is a follow-up to 2014’s Stand or Fall and is another collection of original blues based rock songs.
He will take to the stage at Mickleton on Saturday, September 9, 8pm. Tickets are £12 in advance or £14 on the door.

Next up after Marcus Malone is keyboardist Dona Oxford, who has played with many rock and blues legends, from Van Morrison and Roger Daltry to Andy Fairweather Low and Shakin Stevens.
She will take to the stage on Saturday, October 28. Then, on December 16, it’s Christmas Party time with the Urban Voodoo Machine.
