Business advice is being offered to individuals interested in becoming their own boss.
The free information sessions are being funded by Rural Connect and hosted by South Durham Enterprise Agency, at Enterprise House, on Harmire Enterprise Park, in Barnard Castle.
Start up manager Colin Jones led the first workshop last week which was aimed at those who are in the early stages of considering self employment.
Advice was given on how to develop skills, interests and hobbies into a potentially viable business idea as well as how to market effectively to ensure potential customers are reached.
Those in attendance were also given the opportunity to arrange further one-to-one sessions with a business adviser to help with the start up process.
Social media for business will be the topic of conversation at the next free session on Wednesday, November 23, from 10am until 1pm.
As an effective way to communicate with customers, advice will be given about what social media platforms are the most appropriate for different types of businesses as well as how it can be used to plan a campaign and attract customers.
Anyone interested in attending the session can register online at www. eventbrite.co.uk by searching for ‘Social Media for Business.’
