IT was a case of friends reunited when a school fundraising group got together.
The Friends of Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary and Nursery School decided to celebrate their anniversary after discovering they were at least 25 years old. More than 30 ‘friends’ went along – of those 18 were past members including seven founding members. Former headteacher Michael Harris also attended. Emma Spry, vice chairman of the group, said: “They confirmed the group was formed 28 years ago, and it wasn’t until it was in its eighth year that the group was registered as a charity. The school hall was decorated with bunting and everyone enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea after the current chairwoman, Gillian Hutchinson, welcomed everyone.
“Everyone enjoyed a good catch up and some even got a little tour of the school to see how much things had changed.
“We also held a raffle which raised a tremendous £90.”
