EX-Steeleye Span star Peter Knight heads to Barnard Castle this weekend.
On Saturday, November 12, Peter Knight’s Gigspanner bring their spellbinding mix of folk, rock and European traditional music to The Witham, Barnard Castle.
Hailed as one of the pioneers of British folk and roots music scene, Peter Knight’s Gigspanner are transforming traditional folk song with the release of their most recent album, Layers of Ages, and UK tour.
As an ex-member of 70s folk-rock group, Steel-Eye Span, virtuoso fiddler Peter Knight, is now recognised as one of the trail blazers in blending a multitude of styles to bring folk music to a new audience.
The evening promises a multicultural treat of Cajun, French, Eastern European and Cuban influences with flawless guitar skills by band members Roger Flack and percussion by Vincent Salzfaas.
Layers of Ages has received a host of impressive reviews described as “a glorious musical tour de force” and “an absolute gem” with a listing on The Telegraph’s Best Album of 2015.
