SUMMER will be given a send off at The Hub, Barnard Castle, on Saturday, September 23.
The full day musical extravaganza will see more than 15 local bands and musicians plus bar, barbecue and outdoor activities.
Tickets are £7 for adults, £3.50 for children and £20 for a family of five.
Officials at The Hub are hoping prospective members of an innovative music project may be among those heading to the Summer Send Off.
Following on from the success of last year’s Big Music Project, the team at TCR, led by new music studio supervisor Katie Bottomley, is looking to recruit a group of ten 14 to 19-year-olds to take part in this year’s 12-week programme running from October to December.
Peer support is also provided by mentors from the previous year’s project who can pass on their own experiences and knowledge.
Ms Bottomley is encouraging people who may be interested to come along to the Summer Send Off.
“This is the perfect opportunity to come along and see the potential of what you could achieve,” she said.
“The day is going to be a lot of fun, with so much local talent in one place.
“I’ll be on hand to speak to anyone interested in the project, as will a couple of last year’s mentors.
“We have young bands from The Hub playing as well as some of the more established local groups too; it’s really going to be a fantastic day for all the family and a great opportunity for young musicians to come along and get a taste for this kind of event”.
