AN upper dale garage swapped cars for cakes to raise money for two good causes.
The charity coffee morning and cake stall was held in the showroom at Alston Road Garage, Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Funds were raised for the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Teesdale branch of Cancer Research UK.
Organisers said there was a good attendance from near and further afield, with £826.20 raised.
Half will go to each charity.
One person brought their loose change jar of 5ps, 2ps and pennies.
After some time spent counting it all, it added £124.74 to the kitty.
Ian and Ruth Tallentire, of Alston Road Garage, would like to thank this customer and many other clients and friends, for their generosity and support, plus a big thanks to all the staff for their efforts to make the day really special.
“Everyone said there was a lovely atmosphere,” said Mr Tallentire.
“The Great North Air Ambulance has often made the difference between life and death for serious accidents in upper Teesdale. All of us in our families have been affected by cancer.
“For these reasons, these two charities were chosen to benefit,” he added.
