THIS year’s Romaldkirk Music Festival – the second – has been hailed a huge success.
Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 was performed flawlessly by the festival orchestra, with Evie Brenkley and Rosanna Whitton on recorders.
Romaldkirk Festival orchestra and choir combined beautifully with the amazing acoustics in St Romald’s to carry the music of Purcell to all parts of the church.
The second concert was very different, with the three tenors’ voices hanging in the air in the candlelit church.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to sing with the choir and to the musicians.
A big thank you to the music masterminds Martin Hall and Robin Harrison, to those kind people who provided the buffet and to all who bought tickets; also to the friends, patrons and to the sponsors; Cllr Richard Bell and TT Leathers, at Barnard Castle, who together made it all possible.
St Romald’s will host the last performance of A Revelation of Love by Jane Ford-Ferrand and Andrew Yeadon on Saturday, October 7, at 7.30pm.
It comprises a setting of text by St Julian of Norwich to music.
Tickets are £10 – call 0770 7847289 for more details.
