Urban Voodoo Machine return for sixth Teesdale show

ONE of the most entertaining live bands in the country will be back in Teesdale on Saturday, December 17.
The Urban Voodoo Machine’s sixth visit to Mickleton Live promises an evening of “Bourbon-soaked gypsy blues and rock’n’roll”.
Organiser Sue Brown said: “A spectacular mash-up of musical genres, instruments and carnival chaos on stage, they bring to the party everything we love about a live rock’n’roll show.”
For the uninitiated, she described their show as “burlesque meets rock'n'roll.
She added: “Featuring up to 11 musicians, they play guitars, drums by two extraordinary drummers, fiddle, trumpet, banjo, washboard, upright bass, gong, mandolin, accordion, harmonicas, saxophone and even empty bottles and tie racks to build their unique brand of music.”
The Urban Voodoo Machine supported The Pogues in their US tour and subsequent UK/Ireland Christmas concerts.
They are also festival stage favourites including performing at Glastonbury.
Sue said: “Classic Rock Magazine said ‘this is quite possibly the best live show you will ever see’.
“And we who have seen them here know exactly what to expect.”
