Praise for Morrisons refit

A REFIT of a Teesdale supermarket has been capped off with a celebratory ribbon cutting.
Barnard Castle's Morrisons was rejigged last month with a new pie shop, clothing section and self service checkouts to the fore.
Pipers, a magician and a specially made cake marked the ceremonial reopening on November 17.
Town mayor Cllr John Blissett cut the ribbon alongside staff and special guest PC Harry Marsh.
Store manager Ian Wilkinson revealed how the adjustments were made after requests from shoppers.
He said: “We brought some more jobs in before the refit but it's more about the availability and number of products we now have.
“Customers like it – a lot of our shoppers are elderly and it's catering for what would want without them leaving the town.”
Cllr Blissett praised the store's new look.
“It's a smart layout – people will get used to it,” he added.
“Personally, I think it's a better store all round.”
