WOODLAND Primary School’s football team has once again won the Teesdale Schools Football Association’s small school championship.
The school won a string of matches against other small schools in the area including Bowes, Butterknowle, Cotherstone, Ingleton, Hamsterley, Montalbo and Forest primary schools.
Their final match against Inglenook was won by four goals to one.
Goalkeeper Evan Wood said: “I had an excellent game. I only let one goal in.”
Goals were scored for Woodland by Joseph Colinson, who scored two, and Harry Thompson and Toby Haworth.
School office manager Katrina Scanlon said: “We are very proud. We haven’t a massive year five and six but they have done really well.”
