Rarely seen comedy Some People to be staged by Teesdale Players

A rarely performed comedy is to be performed by a dale theatre group.
The Teesdale Players will tackle Robert Scott’s Some People.
Produced by the Players’ Stephen Lamb and Jill Hedley it bears a vague resemblance to the BBC TV classic Fawlty Towers.
Featuring a large cast and set in a run down and dated hotel reception as elderly burglars return after 15 years in prison to revovber their loot – which is hidden under floorboards. With a slightly dodgy lift, an angry hotel manager, elderly bungling burglars and plenty of colourful characters the laughs should flow until a mystery is solved and the dysfunctional couples discover true love.
Jill Hedley, Russell Whiting, Richard Kettlewell and Teresa Keeling play the Rivers and the Bonds – the two couples at the centre of the play.
The Teesdale Players’ Wayne Mann said: “This production is dedicated to the memory of our good friend Leo Crossling, who sadly died earlier this year and is remembered with much fondness by members of the Teesdale Players.
“Proceeds from the Saturday performance will be donated to the charity MIND in memory of Leo.”
Cancer Research UK (Teesdale) will again raise funds during the performances by providing refreshments and a raffle and any profits the Teesdale Players make are donated to local good causes and charities.
The production take place at Cotherstone Village Hall on the evenings of November 10, 11 and 12, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are on sale now – call 01833 650302. It is suggested that this play may not be suitable for very young children.
