Ingleton pupils – they’re legends in their own lunchtime

A COOKBOOK of traditional and popular recipes has been produced as part of a dale
primary school’s 200th anniversary.
Past and present pupils at Ingleton Primary School united with parents and past and current staff members to produce the cookbook, which was launched during a special assembly ahead of the school’s Christmas fair on Wednesday, November 9.
Headteacher Judith Pressley told the assembly, which included people from the village and parents, that a lot of effort had gone into producing it.
She said: “It is a collection of a lot of recipes by special people connected with the school. There are lots of pictures that pupils have drawn too.”
Sweet prizes were given to pupils whose artwork had been selected and Maddison Million, who drew the cover picture, was awarded her own copy of the book.
Michelle Vickers, of the school’s Friends group, said more than 50 recipes are included.
She added: “There is quite a wide variety. We have a lot of chutneys and jams, baking and we have vegetarian dishes.”
Along with soups, starters, main meals and desserts, the cookbook also has recipes for traditional school dinners.
The book is available from the school, the Black Horse pub in the village and at Winroth’s hairdressers in Darlington.
Only 150 copies have been produced so people are being urged to get their copy before they sell out.
