UPDATED: Mickleton Service Station raided and vehicles stolen

A SPATE of vehicle thefts in Teesdale has led to a call for information from police.

Four vehicles were stolen in a 36 hour period. A grey Ford Ranger, registration number MN05 JNN, was stolen from Newbiggin, which police believe may be linked to the theft of a quad bike from Harwood.

On the evening of Monday, November 14, Mickleton Service Station was broken into and the following three vehicles were taken:

Black VW Passat, registration number LR57 ORT,

Black Vauxhall Corsa, registration number AX05 PPO,

Silver Saab convertible, registration number NX53 NHP.

The Corsa was later abandoned in Middleton-in-Teesdale and the Saab has been found.

A police spokesman said: "The other two vehicles are still outstanding and we would ask the community to remain vigilant as we believe these vehicles may be used to commit further crime.

"If either vehicle is sighted please call the police on 101."
