Home care company expands into Teesdale

AN award-winning at home care company has expanded into the dale and is looking to recruit more staff.

Home Instead Senior Care was established in Darlington and Northallerton in 2012 and has now opened and office in Barnard Castle.

Diane Chandler, 58, from Gainford, who owns the Darlington-based franchise, said: “This will allow us to provide good quality care to the growing population in the local area for years to come.

“As we expand our aim is to continue training our caregivers to the highest standard and provide further support to the local community through our public education programmes and workshops.

“We are looking to hire 20 new caregivers to help us keep up with the demand for our services and would love to hear from caring and compassionate people living in the area.”

The company employs about 40 staff who provide care to enable older people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. The company’s services are tailored to the individual needs of each client and range from companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping and personal care.

The new office will be based in Enterprise House, at Harmire Enterprise Park, in Barnard Castle. It will be used to conduct interviews, provide training and hold meetings.

Care manager Judith Ayre said: “The way in which we operate is unique, allowing us to offer a different working environment for our caregivers. We match our clients and caregivers on their common interests and life experiences. This creates an immediate connection and helps to build a wonderful relationship.”
