Cake to mark 50th anniversary of 'new' Ingleton school building

A 201-YEAR-OLD school has celebrated 50 years in its “new” building.

In a remarkable co-incidence Ingleton Primary School’s headteacher Judith Pressley was part of the first group of children to attend the school in its current buildings.

She said: “I remember it being built. We were actually on television when we walked down the road to see it being built.”

The school celebrated the 50th anniversary of its classrooms by having a special cake baked.

It still retains the two centuries-old bell and sundial from the original school building.
