Should town council take over Barnard Castle's open spaces? Have your say at consultation event

BARNARD Castle residents are invited to have their say on the future of the town’s green spaces at a public consultation event on Saturday, January 7.
Barnard Castle Town Council is considering an approach to the county council to take over responsibility for the Demesnes, Scar Top, the grassed areas on Bridgegate, Amen Corner and Galgate greens.
If the move goes ahead, it will add £7,180 to the town council budget – most likely through an increase in council tax bills.
The consultation event takes place at the town council headquarters, Woodleigh, Scar Top, between 10am and 2pm.
