RABY Castle CC face a tough start to the new season when they open with a home game against defending champions Haughton.
This summer’s Darlington and District League fixtures were released last weekend and the season begins on Saturday, April 22.
This year, four teams from the dale will compete in the A Division, with promoted Middleton-in-Teesdale joining Raby Castle, Barningham and Lands, who just survived relegation last time round.
Middleton begin with a home match against Richmondshire IV, while Barningham are also at home against Nunthorpe, the runaway winners of the B Division last year.
Having enjoyed successive promotions since joining the league, it will be interesting to see how Nunthorpe’s attacking brand of cricket fares in the A division.
Lands head to East Cowton to begin their 2017 campaign.
In the B division, Barningham II visit Spennymoor, while Raby Castle II head to Haughton for the reverse fixture. Cliffe CC, at Piercebridge, kick off with a home tie against Brompton-on-Swale, who were relegated last season.
In the C division, Etherley CC host Eryholme CC in the season opener.
The draws for the opening rounds of league cups have also been made.
In the A division, Lands will visit Aldbrough St John, while Barningham head to Nunthorpe in the 20-over competition.
Raby and Middleton have been handed byes through to the quarter finals.
In the B division cup, Raby Castle have been drawn away to Barton, while in the C division, Etherley entertain Aldbrough St John II.
