Safety first at West Auckland Town FC

A FOOTBALL club is ahead of the game when it comes to player and supporter safety.

West Auckland Town FC has taken delivery of a defibrillator which will be installed at the ground.

The £1,500 heart start machine came courtesy of a donation from Premier Waste Recycling and support from the FA and the British Heart Foundation. West Auckland Town FC general manager Stuart Alderson said: “It will come that every football club is going to have to have a defibrillator.

“Premier Waste Recycling has been fantastic in helping us with this.”

The Leeds-based company has a contract with Durham County Council to handle all waste from the county’s civic amenity sites.

Senior transport manager Stuart White said the company was happy to help the football club.
