Michael's perfect produce takes honours at Cotherstone show

IT was an afternoon to remember for Michael Hedley as he carried off ten trophies at the Cotherstone produce show.

His collection of four different vegetables not only won the WS Hodgson & Co Ltd Shields for its class, it was also judged best exhibit in the vegetable section to take the Harry and Dorothy Siswick Shield.

Mr Hedley also picked up the awards for most points in vegetable and flower sections, his vase of seven dahlias being judged best of the floral entries.

Organisers said entries were slightly down on last year, due mainly to a drop in the number of entries in the photography section.

The show is also one of the main fundraising activities of the year for the village hall and all involved in organising the event were thanked for their efforts.
