Bed push raises £750 for local good causes

AN eight mile bed push has raised almost £750 for causes in Teesdale.
The annual event sees about a dozen friends, under the banner of the Clique, push a bed from Mickleton to Barnard Castle collecting cash along the way.
The bed push has been going for about two decades.
The group started their tour at about 10am and made it to Barnard Castle in time for the town’s Meet weekend boat race.
Geoff Thwaites, of the Clique, said four of those who completed the trek joined in the boat race and went on to come second.
He added: “There are a few refreshments along the way. We stop at Romaldkirk and have a good push from Cotherstone to Barney.”
Mr Thwaites said all of the cash would go into a kitty which will be distributed to various groups and charities in Teesdale in November.
Groups are welcome to apply to the Clique for a share of the cash.
