Salon organises charity ball to help beat cancer

A Barnard Castle salon is to host a charitable ball in support of a leading charity that aims to combat cancer among women.
Saks Hair and Beauty, in Market Place, has organised the event in aid of The Eve Appeal.
The Eve Appeal has grown to become a national charity, which campaigns to raise awareness and fund research into the five gynaecological cancers – ovarian, womb, cervical, vaginal and vulval.
The black tie event is to take place on Saturday, February 11, at Headlam Hall from 7pm to midnight.
Tickets are £40 or £395 for a table of ten, which includes drinks on arrival and a three-course meal. There will also be live entertainment and an auction.
Jessica Hesp, a senior stylist at Saks Hair and Beauty Barnard Castle, said: “Cancer affects so many people and everyone has either been directly affected by the disease or knows someone close to them who has been, so it is vitally important to support organisations like The Eve Appeal that make a difference.
“It is a fantastic charity and has helped support many women throughout the country battling the various gynaecological cancers and, crucially, has helped raise awareness. The charity ball is a way to give back and recognise the efforts of those involved with The Eve Appeal, as well as provide an enjoyable evening at a top North East venue.”
Ms Hesp added: “It is shaping up to be an exciting event, and I would like to thank everyone who has supported it.”
