EMERGENCY services are currently at the scene of a road collision involving a pedestrian and a car in Barnard Castle.

It is understood the incident involved a woman who was crossing the road in Galgate and a Volvo car which was turning into Galgate from John Street.
Emergency services said the pedestrian’s injuries are believed to be non life-threatening at this time but would issue more details later.
Officers are directing traffic in Galgate while paramedics treat the woman’s injuries before transporting her to hospital.
