Homes in Zetland Road and Kalafat, in Barnard Castle, raided by police in drugs probe

DAWN drug raids have seen two suspects arrested in Barnard Castle.
Officers swooped on two houses in Zetland Road and Kalafat at 7.30am on Monday morning (February 6).
Both were detained on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Raids across County Durham, Darlington and North Yorkshire have seen seven men and three women arrested as part of Operation Sledgehammer.
West Yorkshire Police made two further arrests in Bradford on behalf of Durham Constabulary.
Det Insp Nicola Lawrence said: “This operation was aimed at targeting those we suspect to be involved in organised crime, especially the supply of drugs.
“We are satisfied with the results and with other enquiries in hand, we expect to make more arrests over the next few days.”
All suspects were due to be bailed pending further enquiries.
