Romaldkirk Art Group's annual exhibition goes on show

A DALE village will be showing off its artwork over Easter.
The third St Romald’s annual art exhibition is being staged on Easter Monday, April 17, and Tuesday, April 18.
It will feature the work of the Romaldkirk Art Group, which meets every Wednesday in the Reading Rooms from 10am to noon.
The group has invited their friends who are both professional artists, Ron Davidson, resident in Romaldkirk and John Degnan, from Bowes, to join them in the exhibition.
Organisers say it will be an exciting and eclectic mix of art and sculpture, some of which will be available to buy.
The Buttery will open both days serving tea and cake, light lunches and afternoon teas. Organiser Su Graves said the event would also feature a children’s art competition for those aged 16 and younger.
“We would like to encourage young people to have an exhibition of their own,” she said.
“You can donate as many pieces of art, pictures, collages – whatever you wish.
“They will go on display in the children’s art corner, which will be open both days so you can make things on site if you wish.”
All entries will be judged at 2.30pm on Tuesday, April 18, by Mr Davidson and prizes awarded.
There will be different age categories and anyone submitting work should put names and ages on the back.
The exhibition takes place in St Romald’s Church and is open 10am to 4pm on both days. All are welcome to call in for a look.
