Mum and daughters face the chop for charity

A MOTHER and her children have given up their hair for a good cause.

Sharon Dobinson, who lives in Ravensworth, joined her daughters Kimberley and Charlotte in having bob haircuts to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The trio shed their locks at Toni and Guy in Darlington, with their hair going to the Little Princess Trust.

Mrs Dobinson said: “Cancer affects everyone – it’s very dominant in our family. I’m undergoing genetic tests for it at the moment.

“It’s making people aware of the signs and bringing everyone’s attention to it.”

Six-year-old Kimberley and five-year-old Charlotte both go to Ravensworth Primary School which has also backed the family’s haircut campaign in its newsletter.

A tombola and sponsorship for the haircut has already raised £425 for the cancer charity and Mrs Dobinson has a £1,000 target in her sights.
