Whorlton Art Group and Staindrop Art and Crafts Group are both inspired by artist Jane Young who runs the weekly classes.
Ms Young set the art group up in Whorlton almost three years ago and decided to try to get more people involved by setting up classes in Staindrop in February.
The upcoming arts and crafts exhibition will showcase work produced by the two groups over the past year.
Ms Young, who lives in Whorlton, said: “It is an exhibition of artwork, photography, decorative glass and textiles both framed and unframed.”
The preview evening will take place on Friday, October 21, at Whorlton Village Hall, from 6pm until 7.30pm.
The exhibition will then be open during the weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 3pm.
Ms Young said: “Everyone is welcome to come and see the exhibition including the preview night on Friday. There will be a lot of talent on display and people can come and get an idea of what we do.”
The arts and crafts group in Staindrop is held at Scarth Hall every Wednesday from 10am to noon. The art group runs every Thursday in Whorlton Village Hall from 10am until noon. Ms Young added: “Whatever the individual is interested in, I am open to. It is not just one medium. We use all different materials.
“I help people with ideas and help them to develop their work. The classes are open to all abilities.”
