Machines from a bygone age plough a furrow for charity

FANS of vintage farm machinery were in heaven at the seventh annual ploughing match at Rokeby on Sunday.

The event, organised by Peter Moss on Ewebank Farm, raised £600, of which £200 will go to Brignall Church and £400 to the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Mr Moss said: “We have had the air ambulance on this very field twice this year and numerous times in the past because the A66 is such a dangerous road. It’s for a very good cause.”
