Charity's pink day adds £2,500 to Cancer Research UK coffers

DOZENS of women supported a pink ladies event that raised more than £2,500 for the Teesdale branch of Cancer Research UK.

The party, at Barnard Castle Cricket Club, on Thursday, October 12, featured refreshments, stalls of Christmas cards, books, jewellery and cakes, raffles and tombola.

All of the items in the tombola were pink, making for an impressive display.

Pam Ashmore, of the Teesdale branch, thanked everyone who donated goods, helped man the stalls, baked items for the day or simply supported the event.

She added: “We raised the fantastic amount of £2,560. We have a fantastic amount of family and friends who support our committee. Thanks to everyone.”
