Celebrations for 'outstanding' Barnard Castle nursery

A SUPER year at a Teesdale nursery has seen it come away with an excellent inspection.

Kirklands Day Nursery, in Barnard Castle, was judged “outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted inspectors.

Praise was heaped on the nursery’s high standard of teaching, caring environment and “highly effective” partnerships with parents.

Other strong points for the Bede Road creche were its staff, who were hailed as “excellent role models”, the “superb” outdoor area and the impressive behaviour of its children.

Nursery owner Janice Duffy-McGhie was thrilled with the glowing report from Ofsted.

She said: “My girls really deserve this recognition.

“They work extremely hard to maintain our high standards and I’m very proud of them all.”

The full report is available on the Ofsted website.
